Polonia University in Czestochowa was one of the first private universities in Poland. It started its activity in September 1992, as the University of Foreign Languages and Economics in Czestochowa. In 2001, it was changed into Polonia University in Czestochowa. The University pays particular attention to the education of students who are able to think independently in their areas of specialty and who can easily join the European Community. Courses are available in the following specializations: economics, philology, administration, nursing with a foreign language, biotechnology with a foreign language . all of these can be done as full-time, extramural and as well as a wide variety of postgraduate courses. Biotechnology is new specialization. Studies in the field of biotechnology provide students practically and theoretically with the knowledge in: use of biotechnological techniques in medicine, agriculture and microbiology with a particular emphasis on methods of molecular biology Each of our students can, Apart from the Bachelor or Master Degree, acquire a professional language education that is certified by world recognized certificates: LCCI, DELE, ZDfB and CCIP, attesting skills of students in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish languages. Our students are the laureates of international competitions, like the Gold Medal for the best result in the world in LCCI English for Business exam. The University also provides an opportunity for its students to study abroad, and for foreign students to study Polish language and culture at Polonia University, and also offers studies in English language in the Business School. Polonia University in Czestochowa currently co-operates with many universities and research centres abroad. We have signed agreements with institutions on five continents. Since 1997, we have been participating in the Socrates-Erasmus programs, co-operating with 34 other universities. Thanks to the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) that provides the compatibility of study programmes between countries, Polonia University students may, study abroad for a semester or two. Polonia University also takes part in some projects such as Europe Direct (an information and advice service about EU) and Jean Monnet (an educational initiative of the European Commission).
